Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.®) is an organization sponsored by Harley-Davidson® Canada, Harley-Davidson® USA and a local Harley-Davidson® Dealer. We are a family orientated group that promotes the friendly and enjoyable sport of motorcycling within an atmosphere of community and family. Chapters will frequently participate in fund-raising activities for charities, especially the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is the charity of choice for H.O.G.® since 1983. In Canada, Muscular Dystrophy Canada benefits from all funds raised here. Many other local fund-raising activities, such as toy runs for underprivileged children, are carried out during the year by area chapters.
H.O.G.® was created in 1983 for people who share that bond and want to get the most out of their experience of owning and riding a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. The Edmonton 9003 chapter was founded in 1985 and is sponsored by Harley-Davidson® of Edmonton.
There is something about a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle that brings people together. It's a bond that's hard to explain. One of the benefits of H.O.G.® membership are rallies. There are provincial, state and national rallies that bring members together to celebrate the new Harley lifestyle and, in the process, clearly separate Harley-Davidson® from all other motorcycle manufacturers.
Who are we?
We come from all walks of life. We represent all age groups. And we welcome all Harley-Davidson® riders to become part of this group of friends who ride together on afternoon or all day rides, overnight camping trips, as well as grand cross country adventures. At the present time, our membership world-wide exceeds 800,000 enthusiasts, in 1300 chapters.
Locally, we publish a monthly newsletter and have an exclusive members' only website that keep our riders informed. Our year long monthly meetings and social events give everyone the chance to meet some great folks and re-live good times or plan for future events. Our current local chapter membership numbers over 200 "friends".
